Matching Supply and Demand of Secondary Chemicals and Fuels

Todd Pencarinha currently serves as president of Altiras, a Houston, Texas-based company that provides beneficial reuse solutions to create value from chemicals and fuels that would have otherwise ended up as waste. With five subsidiaries, Altiras targets different markets within the beneficial reuse space. Previously known as Altiras Industrial Services, Todd Pencarinha’s firm developed its own custom developed Intranet system to known as AltNet.

AltNet uses a proprietary matching algorithm that registers and matches supply and demand of different secondary chemicals and fuels. The company’s in-house development team leveraged technological advancement and historical beneficial use experience to come up with the product. According to Mr. Pencarinha, the system is superior to anything else in the marketplace and is expected to yield substantial benefits to the Altiras sales and marketing teams.

This leading-edge product is now helping Altiras improve its distribution efficiency in the secondary chemicals and fuels markets. System enhancements have also been planned to further improve the platform’s effectiveness.

About Todd Pencarinha

With more than 25 years of experience in the chemical-processing industry, Todd Pencarinha serves as president of Altiras, a Houston-based company that provides beneficial use and reuse solutions for secondary chemicals. Committed to improving the disposition of secondary chemicals worldwide, he oversees the development of the processes and technologies utilized by Altiras to reduce waste and maximize the value of by-products, co-products, and used chemicals. Together with the Altiras management team, Todd Pencarinha has established five separate business lines geared toward achieving these goals.

Prior to joining Altiras, Todd Pencarinha maintained responsibilities as vice president of Emergent Industrial Solutions, where he created a beneficial reuse business strategy that over a six-year period resulted in growth of revenue to just under $10 million per year. He has also worked as a project manager and lead consultant for LyondellBasell. As a project manager, Mr. Pencarinha directed successful fulfillment of Lyondell’s share of the Channelview Cogeneration Project, a joint project with Reliant Energy that supplied Channelview, Texas, with 800 megawatts of energy.

Todd Pencarinha holds a BS in chemical engineering from the Ohio State University and an MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship from the University of Texas at Austin. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted distinctive research into heterogeneous catalysis.
